Rickie Fowler Bashing: Enough Is Enough!

Apparently, Hunter Mahan won some tournament in Phoenix on Sunday. The way the golfing media have reported the story, however, you wouldn’t have guessed that that was the case.
Sadly, they’ve dedicated more column space to having a pop at Rickie Fowler’s decision to lay up on the 15th.
Forget the fact that Mahan blazed an absoultely flawless, bogey-free 65 to take victory. That’s a non-issue. No, the fact that one of the game’s brightest young stars made a mistake is way more important.
It’s not like Fowler won’t be kicking himself enough as it is, so better remind him about it again. And again. And again. And maybe one more time just for good measure. Ok, that’ll do for now.
I’ve tried with all my might to avoid blogging about this, but an article by Adam Barr on PGATour.com sent me over the edge. Barr wrote, ‘Sometimes, even with 14 tools in the box, the best one to use is your brain.’
Hey Adam, how long did it take you to come up with that absolute gem of a line? Probably the same amount of time it took Rickie Fowler to earn in prize money playing the 15th what you make in a year.
